Broadjam

A music community to sell your music from, plus a plethora of distribution-oriented services (at an extra cost). They have four levels of membership for artists; mini, regular, pro, and primo. You get more services and hosting space as you go up. This profile will cover the regular membership. Cool little features, too, like you can provide lots of info about each song (i.e. description, back-story, and more). This profile last updated 2008-06-26.

Services:
  • sell your mp3s
  • allows users to preview your music
  • only allows full-length previews of music
  • allows listeners to rate your music
  • upload videos
  • sponsors contests
  • allows users to leave comments
  • you can link back to your website
  • Other services: Check out their "delivery" section for more info on their film/tv/radio distribution services. The cost for these is not included in the regular membership fee. The email rep from Broadjam said users could rate songs, but I couldn't find any ratings on the site.
Costs:
  • a recurring fee of $49.95 per year
  • 20% of each mp3 sale
A note from Broadjam: The 6-Pack is open
The fourth annual 6-Pack Songwriting Competition is now open. Over $80,000 in prizes are on the line, including a $25,000 Grand Prize package. 3...2...1...Go! It's time to gear up once again and tackle the fourth annual Broadjam 6-Pack Competition. The 6-Pack consists of six individual songwriting challenges, which take place between June 9, 2008 and December 10, 2008. Start slow and warm up because each challenge gets more difficult as we go. Ranging from best song of your choice to best Rap to the final secret challenge, this year's competition will surely be a challenge for one and all.

The cost for the Film/TV service is dependant on the users level of membership.

  • Mini Mob - $20 per submission
  • Mob - $10 per submission
  • Pro and Primo Mob's - $5.00 per submission

The Film/TV rating information is currently private data that only the destination provider receives. We ask that all members who submit to our Film/TV destinations review other songs that were submitted for the same delivery. A user can never rate their self. When reviewing a user receives a set of three songs to rate. The user will rate one song good, one song better, and song one best. This will prioritize the list of songs so that the destination provider can hear the best songs, picked by Broadjam peers, first. In some cases the provider goes with the peer review votes and other times they dont.
